Bebe Balocca is On the Bench

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABebe Balocca is next up On the Bench. Bebe has a new release this week at Total E bound, another for the Clandestine Classic range.

Today she is talking about her recent Ellora’s Cave release Sand, Sin and Tequila. Welcome Bebe Balocca.

I live in a teeny-tiny town in the southeastern United States, surrounded by rolling hills and lots of cows and horses. My house is brimming with three rowdy sons, my hot husband, and more pets than I can shake a stick at. When I close my eyes, though, I’m on the Mediterranean with an icy drink in my hand and watching the turquoise waves crash at my feet. Next to my hot husband, naturally.

Arden and Ramsay are enjoying the decadent flavors of the Caribbean—and each other—but there’s one exotic spice they crave. They’d hoped a resort would be the perfect place to find a playmate, but it’s the last day of their stay and there’s no third to be found.

Jess is single, uninhibited and more than willing to serve as the cherry on top of Arden and Ram’s tropical dessert. Brandishing a bottle of tequila and the promise of a night of firsts the couple will never forget, Jess is the embodiment of every fantasy Ram and Arden have ever had.

With ocean waves as their soundtrack and a tented beach bed at their disposal, Ramsay, Arden and Jess take part in a sweet feast for the senses sure to make this vacation nothing short of unforgettable.

Inside Scoop: This story has hot sex, cool tropical nights and a husband whose only birthday wish is to watch his wife live out their shared girl-on-girl fantasy.

Excerpt:
“Where’d you get the Don Julio?” Ramsay asked her. “From the duty-free shop in the airport?”

“Oh, no,” Jess shook her head, rummaging about in her beach bag. “Jorge the bartender brought it to me. He brings me all kinds of good stuff. You just have to know how to tip here and the waiters will bring you anything you might want.”

“See, Ram?” Arden said reproachfully. “I told you we should have been tipping more.”

“Babe!” Ramsay protested. “We’re great tippers, trust me. I know these resort employees deserve it. I just wouldn’t have guessed that an entire premium bottle of tequila was on the bar menu.”

Jess cleared her throat and held up three shot glasses. “Also courtesy of Jorge,” she announced. She pulled a thick, dog-eared paperback from her bag to use as an improvised table. Arden’s eyes widened when she saw the cover. Two nude women were embracing, their full breasts pressed together, and another woman stood to one side with her bare leg wrapped around one woman’s thigh. The title, Tangled up with Tina, curled across the top of the book in ornate red font like an X-rated beacon for smut.

“Looks like entertaining reading,” Arden quipped, blushing as Jess carefully poured three tequila shots.

“Huh?” Jess asked. She recorked the liquor bottle and followed Arden’s gaze to the novel’s cover. “Oh, yeah. It’s pretty hot. I like women, so it gets me all turned on. You’re welcome to borrow it if you like. I’ve got some other great reads back in my room.” She handed Arden and Ram their glasses and held her own up in front of her. “Although, watching you and your husband together in the ocean got me pretty excited too,” Jess added with a chuckle. “Bottom’s up!” she said brightly, and tossed back the tequila.  Self-consciousness prickled uncomfortably at Arden at the realization that she and Ram had been observed at their most intimate by a total stranger. Jess’s casual attitude was contagious, though, and Arden’s embarrassment dissipated.

Arden shot a glance at Ram. He nodded and touched his glass to hers. They swallowed the strong, heady liquid. Arden pursed her lips as the heat spread through her throat and belly. “Yum,” she said appreciatively. “I didn’t know I liked straight tequila.”

“Well, the good stuff’s fantastic, and the bad stuff’s undrinkable,” Jess informed her matter-of-factly. “Fortunately for us, Jorge supplies me with only the best from the Aventura bar.”

“Because you know how to tip him,” Ram offered, licking tequila from his lips.

“Exactly!” Jess said cheerfully. “Just ask Jorge. I’m an excellent tipper. Ya’ll want a second round?” She lined up the three glasses again and poured.

They raised their shots and clinked them. “To new friends!” Ram said.

“To drinking good tequila on the beach!” Arden added.

“To hot girl-on-girl romances!” Jess offered. They swallowed their drinks.

Arden suspected that Jess was referring to her racy beach literature, but her stomach fluttered as she watched Jess’s slender neck move with her swallow of tequila. Could Jess be thinking about a little hot romance action with me? she wondered. She did say she likes women…

Now for  the author interview questions where I try and get to know more about my guests.

What was the first book you had published?

“Carved into her Heart”

What was your initial reaction when offered that first contract?

I was thrilled, just elated. I’d been writing in other forms (educational pieces and cultural pieces) but writing fiction has been a lifelong dream.

Of the books you have written is there one that holds a special place in your heart and why?

I’m really excited about my first Ellora’s Cave release, “Sand, Sin, and Tequila.” It’s set in my favorite beach vacation spot, Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It was fun to write because we’ve been there quite a few times and I got to go back, mentally at least, and relive those holidays.

Are you a disciplined writer or do you have to wait for the muse to arrive? Do you have a ritual that gets you in the mood?

I’m as guilty as the next writer, if not more so, of wasting time on the internet. I’m really trying to curtail that with the New Year. One great thing about the contract work I do is that when I’m not feeling the romance, I can write on my own schedule for my other employers. That tends to get my literary juices flowing.

What was the last book you read?

“My Side of the Mountain” by Jean Craighead George. It’s classic youth fiction. I have three kids and when they recommend books to me that they think I’ll love, I read them. Next up is Ayn Rand’s “Anthem”, also a suggestion from one of my kids.   *D – How wonderful that your boys are readers and recommend books. My eldest son has given me books he thought I might enjoy – and he is usually right.

What are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on a short story for the Total-E-Bound March newsletter. And yes, it involves a leprechaun.

What genre would you like to try and write that is different from your own?

I’m a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy, so I might give those a go one of these days.

When you receive edits are you Teary and Disillusioned or Feisty and Focussed?

Any sort of criticism bums me out briefly, but I rebound fast and get right over it. I really can’t tell you how much I value my editors. They are so wonderful and professional in every way, and I am beyond thankful for the bumpy spots they help me smooth out.

What is the one thing in your books you’d like to try?

I am incorporating lots more humor in my stories, and I might play around with BDSM elements at some point.

aussie lifeguards

Now for some hard hitters with an Aussie flavour!

A sport /sportsperson that you watch? (C’mon there must be one) OR An embarrassing sporting memory.

I was a big fan of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings at the Olympics, and I’m totally a girly-girl when it comes to gymnastics and figure skating.

Favourite Aussie Author/Actor /Musician?

Hugh Jackman. Love me some Wolverine!

Your view on Vegemite?

My husband is kind of addicted to Marmite, and I like it pretty well, but I’ve never tried Vegemite. (Uh-oh, will that get in trouble here with the Aussies…?)

Formal dinner party or backyard barbeque?

We love our dinner party friends, so I’d go with that. Plus, my hubby loves to cook fancy gourmet cuisine, so I just have to set the table and help clean up after.

Adventure holiday or relaxing by the pool?

Pool, please.

Favourite Aussie holiday place or one you’ve always wanted to visit?

I’d love to snorkel and scuba the Great Barrier Reef. It looks so amazing!
