Blurb – A Fruitful Intimacy
The fire and passion of their love has slowly ebbed away through years of neglect. Can a second honeymoon re-ignite that spark?
There was no physical contact in their marriage for so long that when Ben first hatches his plan to take Beth away for the weekend it really is all about the sex and providing an environment where there are no distractions, and no excuse for her to refuse his advances again. But while Ben is making all the arrangements it suddenly becomes clear to him that there’s something more important at stake—his marriage, to the woman of his dreams, is actually in trouble.
Beth believed that motherhood would come easy, that building a perfect world around her three sons and husband would be achievable. But reality has proven her wrong. The more she tried the bigger her failures shattered her confidence. Where she planned to shower her family with home baked cookies, smiles and unconditional love—she struggles just getting the evening meal on the table. By the end of the day she’s so exhausted that she can’t even fulfil her marital obligations. Once upon a time making love to Ben was just as necessary as breathing, before her body was ravaged by the demands of pregnancy and childbirth. They’ve grown so far apart that Beth’s convinced Ben’s having an affair.
Can a second honeymoon really help Beth and Ben bridge that growing divide between them and bring back the fire and passion that has slowly, through years of neglect, ebbed away? And will this give the couple a much needed chance to work together for a happier future? Or is it too late?

Relaxing in a bath was supposed to be relaxing. Beth found being idle, even for short periods, meant she had time to think, to worry about her life. All the things she hadn’t yet achieved. Tasks not fulfilled. Time to dissect all the ways she had failed to make this place a perfect house and home. The emotional damage she had caused her sons, by her latest outburst, only added to her worries. The notion Ben could be having an affair yet another addition for her long list. The phone call he had taken earlier and the ones in the days prior really had her doubting him for the first time in their relationship.
Even the mango scented bath soap Beth usually saved for special moments didn’t help her mood. The beautiful, sensual memories the fragrance usually generated, reminding her of the way Ben had once used the cool soft flesh and juice of a mango to send her senses skyrocketing, didn’t surface. Her body soaring from the pleasurable orgasm that ensued was now tainted by her concerns over his fidelity.
It had been a standout moment of all their couplings, an all-time favorite. Intimate, naughty and so unexpected. It had become a bit of a regular joke between them. Beth always made such a mess eating a mango. Ben often teased her about how incredibly erotic it was watching the way she sucked on the fleshy goodness of the fruit, the way the juice got away from her. So, on their honeymoon when he jokingly suggested she eat her mango in the bathtub so as not to spill juice on her clothes. Beth had decided the idea had its merits.
Naked, Beth climbed into the tub, playing up the moment for all she was worth. She lifted a piece of fruit in her hand, bringing it to her lips, sucking the sweet treat in and out of her mouth seductively. Her cheeks hollowing with the motion as she not so innocently simulated the mechanics of oral sex. Back and forth she drew the slice of mango as the juice dripped down her lips, trailed from her chin, and spilled onto her breasts, just as she’d intended.
She’d watched the look on his face, the way his gaze never faltered from her direction as if mesmerized by her every action. Nostrils flaring with eyes that showed such a hunger for her had caused her skin to break out in a wave of goose bumps. Finally, obviously not being able to contain his desire any longer, Ben had stripped out of his clothes and climbed into the tub with her.
The sight of Ben naked had been enough to send Beth’s desires soaring at the best of times, but the intensity, the pure unadulterated lust she’d discovered in his eyes at that moment, had awakened another side of her. They had made love numerous times, but this particular moment remained different for both of them. A wilder more desperate, near animalistic urge to mate overwhelmed them. An emotion Beth felt they had never achieved again—especially not since the birthing of her beautiful boys.
Unfortunately memories could not stave off reality. She and Ben had grown apart. The thought had tears welling in her eyes, again. Stroking her own hands over her skin, she tried to emulate the feel of Ben’s on her body. Pretending she could feel the heat from his touch as he caressed her. She slipped her hand down toward her sex, spreading open her labia as she felt for her clitoris, all the while imagining it was Ben’s fingers touching her so intimately.
Massaging her sensitive nub, she brought forward an image of her husband naked, head between her legs. Beth could almost feel the hot breath from his lips blowing gently on her clit, just as he had so many times before as foreplay to their love-making—
“Beth can I come in, I’ve bought you some chamomile tea, thought it might help you relax.”
The sound of Ben’s voice not only made Beth jump, spilling water over the edge of the tub, but also made her cheeks burn with embarrassment. Oh my God, he nearly caught me masturbating. Not that this was something new, Beth had pleasured herself before, but normally as Ben watched, encouraging her. He had loved seeing her bring herself to orgasm. This would have been entirely different. She wasn’t trying to turn Ben on, her actions not an erotic form of foreplay. No this time was all about self-gratification. Totally selfish considering she had spurned any of his advances lately. So much so he had eventually stopped trying.
She didn’t deserve any gratification, how could she reward herself when she was failing at everything she tried.
*Introducing the Haven Security Series*
Blurb – An Opportunity Seized.
Two unforeseen moments in time— One brings them together, the other is a danger so real it could tear them apart.
Antoinette ‘Toni’ Grimaldi prefers to keep out of the spotlight, blend in with the crowd and experience life the same as the bulk of the population. Being a mining magnate’s daughter is a difficult persona for her to uphold. She just doesn’t fit in with high society standards, always managing to say something inappropriate or trip over her own feet at the worst possible moment. Resulting in that look of disappointment and embarrassment her parents inevitably wear whenever she’s around.
Meeting a handsome stranger who comes to her rescue and asks her out on a date is so much more than Toni could have ever hoped for on her dream holiday—one she is surprised her parents have even permitted her to take alone. Her fairy-tale moment is short lived, though, when Toni discovers the stranger has been hired by her family to follow her every move—under the guise of keeping her safe.
Jason finds he is drawn to Antoinette—she is nothing like the socialite he was expecting to shadow around London’s nightclubs at all. After an awkward first meeting he convinces Toni that there is more to his interest in her than just as her bodyguard. To his surprise his attraction for the soft spoken, thoughtful woman grows, despite his usual reluctance to commit to any kind of relationship.
A disaster at one of the family owned mines and a string of death threats forces Toni to return home, and her need for a bodyguard becomes a life and death reality.

Jason’s legs gave way and he let himself sink to the shower floor for a moment while he regained composure. It had been a while since he’d had sex, maybe a month or two but he didn’t remember anything real or imagined that had resulted in him losing his load quite so quickly—or forcefully.
Finally sure he would be able to use his legs again, Jason stood and turned off the stream of water. He grabbed a towel from the rack on the wall next to him and quickly dried himself off. Wrapping the smallish square of cloth around his hips he gathered up the dirty clothes and tossed them out towards the chair in the next room singing out, “He shoots, he scores,” as the clothes hit the target.
It was only a few steps to get to the drawers beside his bed to find clean underwear. Jason grabbed a collared shirt from the wardrobe and a pair of jeans that lay strewn over his bag, as he tried to make sense of what he was about to do.
He was an experienced soldier, one of the select few who had made it through the demands of commando training. He’d had more than enough tours of duty, in extremely high risk areas, under his belt before he’d resigned his commission and joined Haven Security. He was not new to this kind of assignment, it should have been a piece of cake and yet he had broken protocol.
Spending time with Antoinette Grimaldi was going to cause him problems, exciting and enjoyable complications he was sure, but he understood that a whole heap of trouble was headed his way if he wasn’t very careful. The Grimaldi contract was an important one for the newly established Haven Security and he really should not have been doing anything that could risk it, but what was even more disturbing was Jason had already decided that he couldn’t care less. He needed to meet Antoinette and share a meal with her at the very least. There was something about this woman that intrigued him, enticed him—and that was a situation Jason had not encountered for a very long time.
She kept his son a secret for years, should pay for that deceit. Instead, he was fighting the urge to drag her back into his arms – and bed.
When ex-commando, Nathan Haven discovers he has a son it’s enough of a kick to the guts. Learning at the same time, this child he’s never met, is losing the battle with leukemia, the last straw. He vows to make Rebecca Hammerton regret her decision to keep his son a secret from him. But first he is going to do everything in his power to help defeat the disease that threatens his boy’s life. Then he will deal with the woman that walked away from him seven years ago without so much as a by your leave, turning his heart to stone.
He just has to suppress the constant urge to drag the damn sexy heart-breaker back into his arms, and his bed, first.

They raced three times and as predicted, Danny won each time, although Rebecca had come close the last time, but that was probably only due to Danny becoming fatigued. He was still trying to talk her into “just one more race” when the loud knocking started at her door.
“Sweetie, why don’t you take a little nap while I see who is at the door. Maybe we can play again after lunch.” Rebecca eased the controller from her son’s hands and climbed off his bed, ignoring his mumblings about “life not being fair”. She couldn’t agree more with her son’s sentiments but not in regard to the Mario Kart game—more the burdens he had been forced to deal with in his short life.
The knocking continued as Rebecca walked down her hallway. “I’m coming,” she shouted to the closed door, curious to know which one of her small number of usual visitors was in such a hurry. She wasn’t expecting it to be her father. He had his hands full. It had been just another cruel blow to endure when the doctors had told them six months ago that her mother was showing signs of Alzheimer’s. Life was not fair. Rebecca had cried many times, wondering why her family had to go through so much all at once, especially when her brother Matt was unable to help, given that he was deep undercover in some Federal police operation and had been for some time.
Rebecca threw the door open. “I said I was coming. No need to break the door—” Her heart stuttered a beat, her mouth went completely dry and nausea threatened to bring back the pancakes she had eaten for breakfast.
“I’ve heard those words before… Hello, Rebecca,” Nathan Haven greeted her in a cold, deep drawl.
The pressure in Rebecca’s chest became unbearable. She’d broken out in a sweat and her head was spinning. She wasn’t sure if she was having a heart attack or maybe a stroke. Nathan’s tall form, his dark and ominous eyes became a blurry vision as the world began to swim before her.
“Rebecca, are you okay? I think you should sit down.” His deep voice—one she’d never thought she’d hear again—sounded strange, muted, like her ears were stuffed with cotton balls. She stumbled back inside until her legs bumped the edge of her sofa and sat down. This was her biggest nightmare come true. Well, beside the one about Danny that often woke her in the middle of the night.
“It doesn’t look like you’re all that pleased to see me, Rebecca. I wonder why that might be. I remember a time when you couldn’t wait to get me in the door before you started taking my clothes off and a few occasions when we didn’t even make it inside. Looks like I’ve lost my appeal.”
The inflection in Nathan’s voice was not at all friendly. It sounded downright hostile, and Rebecca understood why. Nathan knew what she had done. He had figured it out that she had kept his son from him and judging from his words and by the way he was looking at her with such hatred in his eyes, he was going to make her pay for her mistake.
